Thermo Fisher Sells Units For $940M

Thermo Fisher Scientific will sell its Athena Diagnostics and Lancaster Laboratories businesses for a combined $940 million.

Thermo Fisher Scientific will sell its Athena Diagnostics and Lancaster Laboratories businesses for a combined $940 million, The Wall Street Journal reports. The Massachusetts-based life sciences company will sell Athena to New Jersey-based Quest Diagnostics for $740 million.

Thermo Fisher will also sell Lancaster Laboratories to Belgium’s Eurofins Scientific for $200 million. The transactions are expected to be completed in the second quarter of this year.
