The lack of significant securitization activity will delay the recovery of the U.K. mortgage market, according to Tony Ward, ceo of Home Funding. Ward said it could take 10 years for the market to reach pre-crisis levels, saying, “the return of the securitization market will lead to a recovery of the mortgage and housing markets and the economy overall.” He warned, however, that he does not see such a return this year.
