HSBC unveiled a new South Africa ETF on the London Stock Exchange on Feb. 16, 2011, IFA Online reports. The MSCI South Africa ETF will be traded in both sterling and U.S. dollars. The ETF will seek to replicate the performance of the MSCI South Africa Index (total return), adds Stock Market Wire. The vehicle will use physical replication to track its underlying index, a cap-weighted measure of 85% of the South African equity market.
