RheinEnergie Buys 25%Vattenfall Plant

Berlin-based Vattenfall Europe has offloaded a 25% stake in Rostock hard-coal fired power plant to RheinEnergie.

Berlin-based Vattenfall Europe has offloaded a 25% stake in Rostock hard-coal fired power plant to RheinEnergie, The Wall Street Journal reports. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. RheinEnergie will also buy Rostock’s 24.6% share, which is currently held by RWE. EnBW will retain its 50.4% share in the power plant, which supplies district heating to the grid operated by the Stadtwerke Rostock municipal works.
