Airgas To Repurchase $300M Shares

Airgas will repurchase about $300 million of its outstanding shares.

Airgas will repurchase about $300 million of its outstanding shares, The Wall Street Journal reports. The move follows the withdrawal of a $5.9 billion takeover bid by Air Products & Chemicals.

Airgas had about 84.2 million shares outstanding as of Feb. 15, 2011. The Pennsylvania-based company sells industrial and medical gases and provides gas equipment, welding products, tools and safety gear, adds Bloomberg.
