Cardinal Raises EBS Bid To €600M

The consortium led by Cardinal has raised its offer for EBS Building Society to €600 million.

The consortium led by Cardinal has raised its offer for EBS Building Society to €600 million, Irish Times reports. The Dublin investment group, which is backed by Wilbur Ross and U.S. private equity firm, Carlyle, had initially offered around €525 million for the state-owned lender. The National Treasury Management Agency is handling the sale. Irish Life Permanent, which has also made an undisclosed offer for EBS, plans to merge the building society with its banking arm, Permanent TSB, adds Business & leadership.
