GM Contributes $6B To Pension Plan

General Motors (GM) has made a 60.6 million shares contribution to U.S. pension plans.

General Motors (GM) has made a 60.6 million shares contribution to U.S. pension plans, Pensions & Investments reports. With the latest contribution, the U.S. auto maker has completed a $6 billion contribution that it had pledged in October.

The Michigan-based company contributed around 40.4 million shares to the plan for hourly workers and 20.2 million shares to the salaried pension plan. GM’s pension obligations are expected to be funded as soon as 2013.
