The European Commission (EC) is planning to unveil another consultation outlining central securities depositories (CSD) reforms for Europe’s post-trade landscape, Financial News reports. The CSDs, which hold and administer securities, will focus on creating new rules for central securities depositories. The European Union may launch a supervisory regime for CSDs that are presently regulated at a national level. The regime will define the scope of CSDs and will bring them under the control of the newly created European Securities and Market Authority as well as supervisors.
