Thai, Myanmar Banks To Jointly Handle FX

Two Myanmar state banks and Thai banks will jointly operate to boost trade flow between the two countries.

Two Myanmar state banks and Thai banks will jointly operate to boost trade flow between the two countries, Xinhua reports. The banks will jointly handle the foreign exchange in settlement of payment. Myanmar Investment and Commercial Bank and Myanmar Foreign Trade Bank are the two Myanmar state banks involved in the agreement. In case of payment in U.S. dollar, the banks will inter-link and settle it, but will use their own currencies in case of ACMECS trade, which comprises Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Thailand and Vietnam.
