Networker extraordinaire Edward O’Reilly, 40, is managing director, head of marketing and sales for the Americas, at London-based Capula Investment Management. Perhaps more importantly, he knows and is known by almost everyone in the industry, on both sides of the Atlantic. Recently relocated back to the U.S. from London, O’Reilly has helped the hedge fund manager raise nearly $2 billion since joining the firm in 2008. O’Reilly, who got his start in the fixed-income group at O’Connor & Associates (later bought by Swiss Bank Corp. then merged into UBS) in Chicago, headed business development for Peloton Partners, the onetime high-profile, London-based hedge fund co-founded by two former Goldman Sachs partners. When Peloton collapsed in 2008, O’Reilly stayed until every one of the investors he brought in had been paid back in full.
