William Featherston of UBS advances from runner-up to third place. Featherston downgraded Chesapeake Energy Corp. from buy to neutral last October, at $28.58, on valuation. By late August shares of the Oklahoma City–based outfit had slumped 27.6 percent, to $20.68, and lagged the sector by 14.5 percentage points. “Bill knows his companies inside and out and does a really good job of isolating the key drivers,” says one buy-side backer.
