Tien-Tsin Huang repeats in second place. Investors praise the J.P. Morgan analyst for his “granular understanding of business fundamentals” and “total grasp of stock psychology.” Huang upgraded Cognizant Technology Solutions Corp. to buy in January 2009, about a week later (and at a higher price) than the analyst at No. 1. He has highlighted his stance ever since, on the belief that rising unemployment would spur demand for the Teaneck, New Jersey–based company’s business consulting and infrastructure-management services. The stock gained 27.1 percent year-to-date through August; during the same period the sector fell 8.3 percent.
