J.P. Morgan’s Claudia Hueston marks her third consecutive year on the second team. Fans laud her industry knowledge and models, which “are very helpful in how they break up the business segments of the company,” says one money manager. Hueston upgraded paper producer Domtar Corp. in November from neutral to overweight, at $41.71, because she saw improving market fundamentals and believed the Montreal-based company would benefit from higher pulp shipments and prices. “We saw a benign supply-side picture, low inventories and some resurgence in demand, led by Asian buying, and thought that pulp prices would move higher and drive Domtar’s earnings up,” she explains. The stock soared to $60.02 through August, gaining 43.9 percent at a time when the paper and forest products subsector advanced only 1.4 percent.
