I-Bank Hires Two Sales Traders

Pamela Kustas and Thomas Zerega, veteran sales traders, have joined New York-based Caris & Company. Kustas, formerly principle sales trader at America’s Growth Capital, joins the investment bank’s new Boston office reporting to Peter Newman, senior managing director and head of institutional sales.

Pamela Kustas and Thomas Zerega, veteran sales traders, have joined New York-based Caris & Company. Kustas, formerly principle sales trader at America’s Growth Capital, joins the investment bank’s new Boston office--slated to open next week--reporting to Peter Newman, senior managing director and head of institutional sales. Kustas’ career spans 14 years and includes stints at John Hancock Advisors and Schwab Capital Markets. Additional hiring for this office, the fourth Boston locale for Caris, is expected (WSL, 2/3). “We are looking for seasoned sales traders, research sales people and analysts [for the new office],” said Darren Caris, chairman and president. Boston is the firm’s second largest asset base. Zerega joins Caris & Co.'s New York office bringing the sales trader total to five staffers. He previously worked for seven years as v.p. equity sales trader at KeyBank Corp.‘s McDonald Securities. In his 25 year career he has worked at Rochdale Securities Corporation as a domestic equity sales trader and at Arnhold & S. Bleichroeder where he became a senior member of the international institutional equity sales trading team. Caris has offices in San Francisco and San Diego as well New York and Boston. New York is the largest office with 27 staffers. Kustas and Zerega have not started yet and could not be reached for comment.
