Yes, Paul Burrell, who in earlier life was the personal assistant of the late Princess Diana, has revealed in a new book that his former British boss had her eye on becoming the First Lady of the U.S. Apparently, Di believed big things were in store for Ted Forstmann, the founder of Forstmann, Little & Co., who reportedly had political aspirations at one time (he ran for the Senate as a republican in 2000) and was romantically linked to Di at one time. Burrell writes in his tell-all tale that Diana dreamed of being like former first lady Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, married one day to the president of the U.S. - which would have been a really long short for Forstmann, considering the result of his senate bid. Burrell doesn’t mention Forstmann by name. In the end, according to the former butler, Di’s dream was shattered because Forstmann was a little too old for her tastes; he was about 20 years his senior. The very private p.e. king reportedly has refused to comment on the matter, but a close associate has confirmed the dream rumors to the media.
