Research provider firstRain will hire several analysts and product developers for its financial services group on the heels of hiring David Frankel in a new post as v.p. in charge of that group. Frankel joined the Foster City, Calif.-based researcher to drive the delivery of customized search services to hedge funds, investment managers and investment banks. “There is a lot of opportunity in the space and managers want good primary research,” said Frankel. firstRain currently covers most public companies and “we are trying to build out each one’s ecosystems,” said Frankel. Frankel worked over a year at BNY Jaywalk as v.p. of sales. Prior to Jaywalk he worked over 11 years at FactSet Research Systems as v.p. of marketing. firstRain has U.S. offices in New York and Boston and two offices in India.
