Croatia: Construction Group Nexe Considers Bond Issue

The construction and building material producing group Nexe Grupa announced that it was considering issuing bonds to fund their investment plans.

The construction and building material producing group Nexe Grupa announced that it was considering issuing bonds to fund their investment plans. The group wants to invest HRK345 million (€47 million) this year, most of it in its cement units. The Nexe grupa’s CEO Tomislav Rosandic said that hitherto the company had financed its investment and acquisition plans from own resources and from borrowed funds, the largest part of them from EBRD and Zagrebacka banka. He added that the decision on whether to issue bonds on domestic market or not would depend on the situation on the market. The Nexe Group includes 22 companies (four of them in Bosnia and Herzegovina), most of them operating in the segments of cement and building material production, and construction. The group announce recently it expected revenues to grow by 8% year-over-year to HRK1.45 billion (€199 million) and net profit by 15% to HRK180 million in 2005. This year, the group expects 20% revenue growth and 12% net profit growth.
