In effort to meet the growing demands by businesses around the world for compliance professionals, the NASD has teamed up with the U.K.'s University of Reading to offer the first-ever master’s degree in capital markets, regulation and compliance. Also being offered at the school are a diploma and certificate in capital markets, regulation and compliance geared toward market professionals seeking credentials for looking to gain specific product expertise.
Says NASD Chairman Robert Glauber, “The creation of this new set of professional qualifications, which will be recognized on an international level, will raise the profile of the compliance function even further and help create a respected career path for compliance professionals across the world. This can only serve to reinforce the integrity of global markets and increase investor confidence.”
