Atwood (Porter) ­Collins was a senior analyst on the team headed by Steve ­Eisman at multistrategy hedge fund firm FrontPoint Partners that was early to spot the collapse of the U.S. subprime-­mortgage market. In 2011, with FrontPoint in disarray, it was widely rumored that Eisman would leave and that Collins, who was previously a Goldman, Sachs & Co. portfolio analyst, would follow. Instead, Collins left shortly before ­Eisman to co-­found ­Seawolf Capital with fellow FrontPoint alums Daniel Moses and Vincent Daniel. Collins, 36, serves on the advisory board of ­Bowside Capital, a New York–based private equity firm that focuses on small-cap companies. A Brown University graduate with a history degree, Collins rowed for the men’s eights U.S. Olympic team in 1996 and 2000, finishing in fifth place both times; is a three-time World Rowing Champion; and serves on the board of the National Rowing Foundation and as steward of the Brown Rowing Association. Seawolf has $150 million in assets and is currently closed to new investors.
