Landmark Mandarin Oriental leads our annual ranking of Asia's top hotels.

Everyone dreams about making the perfect getaway. Now, guests at the Landmark Mandarin Oriental hotel in Hong Kong can claim to have found the real deal.

The Landmark takes the crown as the top hotel in Asia , according to The 2012 World’s Best Hotels, Institutional Investor’s annual ranking of elite establishments. Voters in the survey, which rates hotels on a scale of zero to 100, gave the establishment a perfect 100, a rare achievement. The win by the 113-room property, perched over a shopping mall in the city’s Central district, marks a trifecta for boutique hotels, which also claimed the top ranking in Europe and the Americas.

The Peninsula hotel in Tokyo comes in second place in Asia, followed by the Island Shangri-La and the Four Seasons in Hong Kong and the Grand Hyatt in Seoul.

The ranking is determined by the votes of well-travelled II readers, including senior financial and corporate executives.

The full ranking will publish on the site on December 4.
