Kam Keung (Oscar) Choi, Wendy Koh & team Citi

The buy side says: “Their recommendations are always worthy of attention.”

Kam Keung (Oscar) Choi, 34, and Wendy Koh, 40, pilot Citi’s 16-member squad to its third straight victory. “They produce some of the most balanced, useful, timely and helpful research in the space,” declares one buy-side supporter. From offices in nine cities across Asia, the team follows 110 companies. The analysts were cautious on China’s property sector throughout much of last year but reversed their position in the fourth quarter. Recommendations included Evergrande Real Estate Group, largely on valuation; the stock shot up 34.6 percent through March. Choi, who has a master’s degree in Chinese historical studies from the University of Hong Kong, joined the firm in 2007 from DBS Vickers Securities. Koh earned a bachelor’s degree in business from Singapore’s Nanyang Technological University and moved to Citi in 2006 from Cazenove Asia. — Leslie Kramer
