Jochen Gehrke, Gaëtan Toulemonde & team, Deutsche Bank
Repeating at third is the Deutsche Bank quartet co-piloted by Jochen Gehrke, who works out of Frankfurt, and Paris-based Gaëtan Toulemonde, who also leads the No. 3 team in France. With 23 stocks under coverage, the researchers earn points for “insights that help us understand in a simple but deep way the industry dynamics,” as one money manager puts it. In January 2011 the crew downgraded Italy’s Fiat from buy to hold, at €7.37, partly on the Ferrari and Maserati maker’s soft earnings outlook. The stock plummeted 51.8 percent, to €3.55, through December.
