J.P. Morgan makes its first appearance on this roster in the No. 3 position. London-based Alexander Comer and Elena Jouronova, who is headquartered in Johannesburg, together direct a squad that monitors ten regional health care and pharmaceuticals companies. “After a strong run, the South African hospitals look pretty fully valued,” says Comer, “particularly given the lack of job and medical scheme membership growth in South Africa.” He and his colleagues recommend names with exposure beyond that market, such as Aspen Pharmacare Holdings, the nation’s largest drug manufacturer. Their target price of 33.90 rand represents a 24.1 percent upside to the shares’ value at the end of May. |
