J.P. Morgan’s Fernando Abdalla repeats in second place. Clients continue to sing the praises of the São Paulo–based analyst’s long-standing buy on highway manager CCR. Abdalla upgraded the stock from neutral to overweight way back in November 2010, at a split-adjusted 2.27 reais, partly on the strength of acquisitions that had expanded the São Paulo–based company’s footprint. He has highlighted his position repeatedly since. By mid-July 2013 the shares had risen to 16.60 reais, for a spectacular 631.3 percent gain; during the same period the sector inched up only 2.8 percent. “Fernando helped us make money in a challenging region,” attests one fund manager in New York. CCR remains the favorite among the nine stocks that Abdalla follows. — Ben Mattlin
