In third place for a second year running is Carlos Firetti; the Bradesco Corretora analyst also earns a runner-up spot in Financials/Nonbanks. “So far this year the market has been moving quickly,” he observes. “Banks and financials have been mostly outperforming, driven by an improvement in credit quality and better expectations in terms of results.” The São Paulo–based researcher, who reports on 18 stocks and plans to add coverage of two to three names in the coming year, believes that the trend will continue and has dubbed Brasília’s Banco do Brasil his top pick.
