Industries – Financials/Nonbanks: Third

São Paulo–based Marcelo Henriques leaps from runner-up to third place; he also ranks as runner-up in Financials/Banks. The BTG Pactual researcher, who tracks 17 stocks, “brings a different perspective to the companies he analyzes,” according to one buy-side enthusiast. Nonbank financials have been doing well, Henriques reports, and “we continue to see them outperforming banks and the market in general for the rest of the year.” He is recommending two outfits: Brasília’s BB Seguridade Participações, the insurance unit of Banco do Brasil; and São Paulo–based exchange operator BM&F Bovespa. “Both offer a very attractive risk-reward to investors at current levels,” the analyst says. “Despite a challenging environment, we still see earnings per share for both companies growing by double digits, with attractive dividend yields — north of 5 percent.” — Leslie Kramer
