CPFL Energia
CPFL Energia is Brazil’s largest non-state-owned electric energy generator and distributor. The Campinas-based company operates seven subsidiaries that generate, distribute and commercialize electric energy and renewable energy in the country. About 8,000 people work for CPFL Energia. The firm’s name derives from Companhia Paulista de Força e Luz, founded in 1912 following a merger of four São Paulo energy companies.
