UBS’s seven-strong, London-based crew holds on to third place. Jarrod Castle, 42, and 39-year-old Dominic Edridge oversee the squad’s reporting on 31 European transport companies. A favorite name in this group is Germany’s Deutsche Post. The researchers upgraded the stock from neutral to buy in October, citing the parcel and mail deliverer’s portfolio of contracted business and recently completed restructuring. By the end of last month, it had jumped 24.4 percent, to €28.77, besting its peers by 2.8 percentage points. They also like Fraport, a German logistics services provider, on its recent infrastructure improvements. In August, UBS’s analysts launched coverage on the Frankfurt Airport operator’s shares with a buy rating, and through January they gained 14.9 percent, closing at €54.22. “They are a smart team with a wide network of information sources,” asserts one asset manager.
