Electron Capital Partners’ big bet on energy transition was short-circuited this year. The hedge fund firm, however, expects 2024 to be a big recovery year.

The firm, headed by ex–SAC Capital manager Jos Shaver, was down 11.6 percent for the year through November, according to a hedge fund database, and is poised to post its worst results since it became a fully independent hedge fund firm in 2013.
