Morgan Stanley has hired Greg Fleming as head of its asset management and research unit, Financial Times reports. The former Merrill Lynch CEO and president will join as president of Morgan Stanley Investment Management, including merchant banking.
Fleming will serve as a member of the Operating Committee and will report to James Gorman, who will become CEO and president of Morgan Stanley in January. Currently, Fleming is a senior research scholar and lecturer in law at Yale Law School.
