"Sometimes I feel this firm was made for me," says François Trahan, Wall Street's top portfolio strategist, of his new employer, investment and research firm ISI Group. "It's the gold medal team of what I do."
Trahan, 37, is one of two recruits landed by Ed Hyman, chairman of New Yorkbased ISI, who hired the analyst away from Bear Stearns just before signing Jeff deGraaf, 39, a technical analyst formerly at Lehman Brothers last month. Like Hyman, both of the new recruits have been top-ranked analysts in Institutional Investor's annual All-American Research Team survey.
Hyman, the AART's No. 1 Wall Street economist, already employs AART veterans Tom Gallagher, a Washington research specialist, and Mike Rothman, an integrated oil analyst.
