Paris gains its second Marriott Courtyard hotel next week. The 150-room Courtyard Colombes opens Monday, August 7, on the border of the La Defense business district to the west of the city centre. The city’s existing Courtyard, an older property, is located at Neuilly, a residential area west of Porte Maillot.
Courtyard is Marriott‘s value brand, but the properties now being opened across mainland Europe are a cut above those found in the U.S. This particular property is typical of the new breed of Courtyards, where you find quasi-standard four-star accommodation at reasonable prices.
There’s a quality restaurant and bar, a fitness center, two meeting rooms and a business center. Opening rates are very attractive, perhaps because August is a slack month for the French capital. Rooms are all 250 square feet in size and offer either one king or two twin beds. Deluxe rooms are priced at €69 for a mid-week stay falling to €59 at the weekend. Premier rooms cost €194 and include internet access and amenities. All rates include breakfast.
The new Courtyard is located five miles from the heart of Paris. It’s also 18 miles southwest of Charles de Gaulle airport and 22 miles northwest of Orly.
