Economy minister Genc Ruli declared in a meeting on Wednesday that the law on foreign investments in Albania needs amending because it is already outdated and does not correspond to the new market conditions. Experts discussed a new draft of the law effective since 1993, which will incorporate new mechanisms, instruments and incentives for attracting foreign investment in the country.

One of the fiscal stimuli experts are considering is reducing profit tax by 65% for investments in excess of €10 million for a period of 10 years. The government has already made steps to improve the overall business environment in the country by reducing administrative barriers and costs.
