Deloitte Financial Advisory Services plans to expand with five hires in the near future, following last week's addition of a former regulator. Some of the hiring is part of an expansion in the group, which works with financial services firms and public companies on litigation-related matters. Last week, Deloitte announced that Howard Scheck, a former branch chief in the Securities and Exchange Commission's Division of Enforcement, joined as a partner in the Forensic & Dispute Services practice. The next four hires will be announced in coming weeks beginning Monday, said Beth Foster, a Deloitte spokeswoman.
Scheck, who is based in Washington, D.C., will work with law firms, corporate counsel and audit committees. Four of the hires will cover similar areas and a fifth will work on bankruptcy matters for clients. Foster did not specify by press time where the hires will be located. In October, Deloitte FAS hired a former bank compliance officer, Robert Axelrod, as a director in the Anti-Money Laundering group.
