The Senate Foreign Affairs Committee urged Singapore to investigate the controversial sale of Shin Corp. shares to Temasek Holdings. The stake sale in the telecommunications conglomerate by caretaker Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra's family has fuelled anti-government opposition and sparked a political crisis in Thailand. Senate Committee Chairman Kraisak Choonhavan has raised concerns over the THB73 billion Shin Corp sale. Senator Kraisak called on Singapore's parliament, president and prime minister to investigate the alleged lack of transparency surrounding the Shin Corp stock sale to Temasek.
