The Texas Teacher Retirement System (TRS) has appointed Hamilton Lane Advisors as the $105.4 billion system’s sole private equity consultant, Pensions & Investments reports. Hamilton Lane will advise on TRS’ nearly $7 billion private equity portfolio. The move is part of the contract renewal of the fund’s five existing consultants. Altius Associates was also considered for the position. The TRS plans to allocate further $1.5 billion to private equity in 2011 and a combined $700 million over the next two years to emerging private equity and real asset managers.
