American Financial Group has received a proxy proposal to adopt, Pensions & Investments reports. The $140.6 billion New York State Common Retirement Fund has proposed that the company implement an employment policy prohibiting discrimination based on sexual orientation. A joint proposal from the $6 billion Evangelical Lutheran Church in America Board of Pensions and Calvert Asset Management has suggested diversifying the company’s board to add women and minority candidates. American Financial has recommended its shareholders to vote against both proposals since the company is an equal opportunity employer.
