Patrick Bennett has joined Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce (CIBC) as executive director and FX strategist, working in the macro strategy group, FX Week reports. He will handle Asia-Pacific currencies and provide inputs for research on rates and markets.
Based in Hong Kong, Bennett will report jointly to Joanna Zapior, managing director and head of macro strategy in Toronto, and Andre LaJeunesse, managing director and head of capital markets trading, Asia. Prior to joining CIBC, Bennett worked at Standard Bank Asia in Hong Kong, where he covered Asian and Australasian economic and financial market issues and strategy.
