CME Group will lower trading costs for speculators on two of its precious-metals futures contracts, The Wall Street Journal reports. Speculators will be required to post $3,850 to trade a 50-troy-ounce platinum futures contract, down from $4,950 currently.

The exchange will also decrease the cost of holding a contract overnight from $4,500 to $3,500. The cost of starting a position in palladium futures will be lowered from $6,875 to $5,775, while the cost to hold a 100-ounce contract overnight will lower from $6,250 to $5,250.
