Comcast, NBCUniversal Form $750M VC Fund

Comcast has merged its venture capital affiliate, Comcast Interactive Capital, with Peacock Equity Fund, the venture capital affiliate of NBCUniversal and General Electric, to form a $750 million fund.

Comcast has merged its venture capital affiliate, Comcast Interactive Capital, with Peacock Equity Fund, the venture capital affiliate of NBCUniversal and General Electric, to form a $750 million fund. The new entity, known as Comcast Ventures, will focus on digital media, e-commerce and entertainment.

Comcast Ventures will maintain its offices in New York, Philadelphia and London, in addition to its presence in Silicon Valley. Amy Banse will serve as Comcast Ventures’ managing director and head of funds and report to Comcast CFO, Michael Angelakis. Banse was president of Comcast Interactive Media, which creates and operates online and mobile properties for Comcast.
