BlackRock is partnering with CME Group and Google to create an electronic dictionary defining derivatives and other financial instruments, Financial Times reports. Regulators want the dictionary standardized so that it can be adopted by global market participants.
The effort will require the formation of universal “identifiers” for traders and for products across markets. This will allow regulators to see which entities were trading in which markets at all times, eventually in real time.
