Study: Advisers Plan To Use MFs, ETFs More

Cogent Research said advisers are stepping up use of mutual fund and ETFs, MutualFundWire reports. According to the study, Advisor Brandscape, 8 percent of the reviewed advisers said they used mutual funds for exposure to alternatives and 17 percent said they used ETFs. Cogent found that 28 percent of current alternative users are planning to increase their usage of mutual funds to gain exposure to alternative asset classes and 41 percent plan to increase their ETF usage. Advisers are seeking to provide greater portfolio diversification using products that are easy to use, easy to access and that clients are comfortable with.
