Nomura has unveiled a new index to track India’s $510 billion government bond market, Risk.net reports. The Indian Local Government Bond Index will measure the total return performance of Indian government bonds denominated in Indian rupees. The index is a tracking tool for the investors seeking replicate to generate higher portfolio returns from liquid bonds. The Japanese bank is also planning to launch indexes and associated replicator baskets for South Korea, Indonesia, Australia and Malaysia.
