BMO Buys M&I Investment’s Unit For $4.1B

Bank of Montreal (BMO) has completed the $4.1 billion acquisition of Marshall & Ilsley, a subsidiary of M&I Investment Management.

Bank of Montreal (BMO) has completed the $4.1 billion acquisition of Marshall & Ilsley, a subsidiary of M&I Investment Management, MutualFundWire reports. As part of the transaction, Kenneth Krei will be appointed as executive vice president for global private banking. He will work under Gilles Ouellette, who is currently Marshall & Ilsley Trust Company’s Chairman, president and CEO and M&I Investment Management’s chairman and CEO. M&I Investment Management’s president and CIO Tommy Huie has been named as president and CIO of BMO Asset Management U.S. to work under Barry McInerney. Steve Arquilla will join as COO and Harris InvestmentsPhil Enochs will be managing director of relationship management at BMO Asset Management U.S.
