Direct Edge has appointed Anthony Barchetto as head of strategy. In his new role, Barchetto will be responsible for overseeing all strategic growth initiatives and business development efforts for the stock exchange. He will succeed Bryan Harkins, who was appointed COO in January 2011, and will report to CEO, William O’Brien. Previously, Barchetto has worked for electronic block trading platform Liquidnet, Citigroup’s Lava Trading, hedge fund Puglisi Capital Partners and Knight Capital Group.
