Goldman Sachs has raised $2.5 billion through a senior fixed-rate bonds sale, The Wall Street Journal reports. The 30-year bonds had a yield of 6.278% or 170 basis points over comparable Treasury yields. The note sale was managed by Goldman and the proceeds will be used for general corporate purposes. In 2007, the bank had issued 30-year debt bearing an interest of 6.125%.
