Credit Suisse has laid off nearly 2,000 employees, Financial Times reports. The staff cut at the Swiss bank accounts for almost 4% of its total global workforce count of 50,700. The dismissals come as a part of a performance review, where employees with unsatisfactory performance were fired to cut costs. The lender slashed jobs for better returns after net profits dropped to $957 million in the second quarter.
