Assets in U.S.-listed ETFs and ETNs stood at nearly $1.064 trillion at the end of August, an increase of more than 31percent in comparison to $815 billion at the end of August 2010. The number of listed products totaled 1,301 against the 1,046 at the same time last year, according to the National Stock Exchange.
ETFs/ETNs experienced net cash inflows of almost $2.03 billion in August. The year-to-date net cash inflows reached $73.2 billion, a 54 percent increase over the same time period in the previous year when the inflows were $47.6 billion. ETF/ETN notional trading volume amounted to approximately $2.99 trillion, representing almost 37 percent of all U.S. equity trading volume.
