Silver sector ETFs dropped on Wednesday along with gold, compared to stock ETFs that rose during the day, ETF Trends reports. Silver futures fell 3.5 percent in early trading but pared most of their losses. Silver ETFs have gained nearly 36 percent so far in 2011 through September 6.

In contrast, equities ETFs including the Dow Jones Industrial Average climbed 260 points in afternoon trade, compared to silver ETFs which declined more than 1 percent. Some of the silver ETFs include the IShares Silver Trust and the ETFS Physical Silver Shares.
