Capital Power To Buy $315M Power Plants

Capital Power is seeking to acquire two generating facilities from U.S. gas-fired power plant and facilities operator, Brick Power Holdings.

Capital Power is seeking to acquire two generating facilities from U.S. gas-fired power plant and facilities operator, Brick Power Holdings. The North American independent power producer will pay a total of about $315 million for the acquisition.

The facilities, located in Tiverton, Rhode Island and in Rumford, Maine, are natural gas-fired combined cycle power generation facilities. The deal, which is pending for regulatory approvals, is scheduled to close in April 2011.
